The InterContinental Milwaukee Hotel, at 139 E. Kilbourn Ave. in downtown Milwaukee, recently hosted a grand opening launch party. The 220-room hotel, formerly known as the Wyndham Milwaukee Center, was purchased last year by Marcus Hotels and Resorts, a division of Milwaukee-based The Marcus Corp. Marcus reflagged the hotel as InterContinental Milwaukee and did a multi-million dollar renovation. The renovations transformed the hotel into a hip and trendy establishment and added two new bars, Clear and ZenDen, and a new restaurant on the second floor called Kil@wat.
The hotel is the 18th InterContinental hotel in the United States. It is a brand of Windsor, United Kingdom-based InterContinental Hotels Group.
