Elkhorn gets authority to review building plans

For commercial structures
Department of Commerce Secretary Brenda J. Blanchard announced that the department has delegated the City of Elkhorn, in Walworth County, the authority to conduct commercial building plan review.
“The City of Elkhorn joins more than 100 other state municipalities that have been delegated the authority to conduct plan examinations and inspections on behalf of the Department of Commerce,” Blanchard said. “This gives municipalities the opportunity to provide services on behalf of the state as well as their own enforcement activities on projects within the scope of their delegated authority. Typically, municipalities can provide more immediate service to local projects.”
Under the certification agreements, Brian Boneck will be responsible for plan review and inspections for Elkhorn.
