Wisconsin’s first-ever large scale YPWeek program has continued to pique the interest of cities across the state as Sheboygan and Fond du Lac draw their young professional networks into the lineup of events.
YPWeek Wisconsin, modelled after Newaukee’s Young Professionals Week, will be held April 11-18 with a focus on drumming up conversation and action on issues most important to young pros.
The week, led by a partnership between Newaukee and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, was announced in February with the involvement of young professional organizations in Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay, Appleton, Kenosha and Wausau.
With the newly announced participation from Sheboygan and Fond du Lac, the week will feature more than 90 events catering to young professionals.
“YPWeek Wisconsin establishes a framework for existing and emerging young professionals throughout the state to collaborate and brand Wisconsin as a workplace destination for all Millennials,” Angela Damiani, president of Newaukee, said in a press release. “The excitement that is mounting with the new cities coming aboard and the willingness to work towards a single goal proves that folks are hungry and ready for this type of platform.”
Events, to be held in each of the eight cities, will also highlight assets specific to each community.
Milwaukee-hosted events will include a “speaker crawl” in which local executives will give Ted-talk presentations, “Investing in Your Future” sessions led by Robert W. Baird & Co., and a Historic Third Ward Gallery Night Art Bus.
