Simix Reactive Solutions LLC was founded in 2004 by Kenosha resident Jeff Stanich. The manufacturer of inorganic coatings for building and automobile exteriors started with one product and ended up with six, Stanich said.

“We went out into the market with one product and soon failed. We had a great product, but it wasn’t consumer-friendly,” Stanich said. “We decided to retrench and build a system around the initial technology, which is about oxidizing organic matter off of surfaces treated with our product.”

Simix changed the original product’s name from Algae and Mold Oxidizer to Algae and Mold Preventer. The same nanotechnology formula used for the original product was used to produce new variations, including the creation of a cleaner for hard tile, concrete and grout and a product to protect windows when applying the cleaner and preventer.

Out of the development of the building cleaning and maintenance system, which Simix sells to contractors, came the development of Simix Supreme Shield, a clear coat that restores, seals, polishes and protects the exterior of automobiles. The Supreme Shield is sold commercially and is available for retail for about $30.

Simix recently signed a contract with Pittsburgh-based PPG Industries to distribute Simix Supreme Shield and is targeting car dealerships for use in their lots, as well as an after-market product, Stanich said.

Simix was an IQ Award winner at this year’s Small Business Times Wisconsin Business and Technology Expo.

Simix Reactive Solutions is a rapidly growing company because of the quality of the product and its affordability, Stanich said.

“We figured out how to do it cheaper and better than the competition in the world,” Stanich said. “You can buy a similar type of technology from Germany or Japan for $250 to $500 per gallon, and ours is less than $40 per gallon. It is all because we have a unique technology.”
