As the end of the Dominick’s Finer Foods franchise in Chicago nears, JPMorgan Chase & Co. has determined it will lose 49 of its area branches, or 12 percent of its local footprint.
With 52 locations in Dominick’s stores, Chase has salvaged three of them. It struck a deal with Jewel-Osco grocery stores to keep three of the branches in Dominick’s stores Jewel is acquiring, a spokeswoman said yesterday.
The accounts of the rest of Chase’s customers affected by the closures will be transferred to nearby Chase branches, which on average are less than a mile away from the Dominick’s sites, the spokeswoman said.
