Eagle Technology Inc., Mequon, added Sentry-V to its ProTeus family of facility management solutions. Sentry-V is a module that allows customers to monitor in real-time the status of their air handling units based on National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards. The benefits of Sentry-V include energy savings, greater occupant comfort, improved equipment performance and overall lower cost of operation and maintenance. Sentry-V uses existing systems data and works with all major building automation systems (BAS). The module will be available in March.
MC Services
MC Services, Pewaukee, partnered with Masterlink Training LLC, Menomonee Falls, to open the first Apple Authorized Training Center (AATC) in Wisconsin. The AATC offers a full slate of certification classes on software developed by Apple, Inc., Cupertino, Calif. The creation of the AATC was in response to customer demands for Apple Certified Training: Classes for Macintosh Support and Systems Integrators Offered in Milwaukee. The AATC provides training certified by Apple and is delivered by Apple Certified trainers. MC Services has provided support for Apple Macintosh computers since 1993. All MC Services systems engineers are Apple Certified and hold additional certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, and Filemaker. Classes include: Introduction to Mac OS X for Technical Professionals; Supporting Mac OS X for Windows Administrators; Mac OS X Support Essentials; Mac OS X Server Essentials; Directory Services Integration and Administration; Security Best Practices for Mac OS X; Network Account Management; Mac OS X Server Command Line Install & Configuration and Mac OS X Deployment. The courses are designed for professionals who are responsible for planning, maintaining and integrating Mac OS X workstations and solutions using Mac OS X Server and other Apple technologies into various network environments.

Capital Data Inc., Milwaukee, partnered with SoftwareOne, New Berlin, as a value added reseller (VAR) in the SoftwareOne VARassist Partner Program. By joining the VARassist Partner Program, Capital Data can add software licensing expertise to its solutions and implementation services, providing a total solutions package to its customers. SoftwareOne is a Microsoft large account reseller (LAR) and Gold Certified Partner. Capital Data now has access to the full range of Microsoft licensing agreements.
Children’s Hospital and Health System
West Allis-West Milwaukee School District received a $10,000 grant from the State of Wisconsin to implement BlueKids.org’s Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Prevention II (ATODII), an E-learning program developed by Children’s Health Education Center, a member of Children’s Hospital and Health System, Wauwatosa. ATODII helps students in kindergarten through eighth grades develop decision making tools to avoid drinking, smoking and drugs. The students learn through interactive activities such as creating their own anti-drug comic strips and games, including “Dodging Risks.” About 600 students at the district’s two middle schools will use the BlueKids.org E-learning program this spring. The grant will give the school funding for ATODII for two years.

The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, Brookfield, introduced a new E-learning course, Section 125 Plans. Section 125 plans enable employers to provide employee benefits in a more-cost effective and flexible way through pretax contribution and flexible spending accounts. The course covers the technicalities of Section 125 plans including: the background and basics of Section 125 plans; types and structures of Section 125 plans; qualified benefits and motivations for plan sponsors and participants; Internal Revenue Code and cost-control advantages of Section 125 plans; implementation and administration of Section 125 plans; interaction of Section 125 plans with other federal laws and nondiscrimination requirements of Section 125 plans. Section 125 Plans provides up-to-date information with real-life applications to provide insight on how the technicalities of Section 125 plans unfold in day-to-day work environments.
RedPrairie Corp.
Universal Power Group (UPG), Carrollton, Texas, will implement RedPrairie Corp., Waukesha, warehouse management, visibility and scorecard solutions at three distribution facilities in Dallas, Oklahoma City and Las Vegas. UPG is a provider of third-party logistics and supply chain management services and a global distributor of batteries, security products and related portable power products. The solutions will give UPG the ability to offer increasingly complex services for customers and provide network-wide visibility, including Web-portal based order visibility, so customers can track the status of orders while in process. They will also enable UPG to support vendor managed inventory (VMI) programs, tracking and controlling customer-owned inventory seamlessly.
