Super Steel launches new industrial painting division

Milwaukee-based Super Steel LLC is launching a contract painting division called SS Coaters.

Super Steel currently does its painting in-house and saw the need to expand in the contract paint market by revitalizing its E-Coat line.

The E-Coat paint line has significant open capacity and large part capabilities with a seven-stage iron phosphate wash system. The advantages of E-Coat are simplification of manufacturing and finishing, better corrosion protection, improved appearance and a greater economic value. SS Coaters has topcoat capabilities as well, with both powder and liquid application.

To coordinate the launch of SS Coaters, Super Steel brought on Greg Gaberino as the general manager to oversee operations of plant production, personnel and sales.

Dirk Smith, Super Steel president and chief operating officer, said, “We are extremely pleased to announce the revitalization of the E-Coat line. We believe there is a significant opportunity for contracting painting in Southeastern Wisconsin. Looking forward, we have plans to be a $10 million dollar company and will be incrementally adding 30 new jobs. I have tremendous confidence in Greg’s ability to implement the growth strategy to make SS Coaters successful.”
