Summerfest to give away 100,000 tickets

Summerfest officials recently announced the formation of its “Let’s Fest!” campaign which includes plans to give away over 100,000 Summerfest Tickets from now until this summer’s event. The Campaign is designed to reward Summerfest fans but also promote Summerfest 2011 which will begin on Wednesday for the first time in history.
Part of the giveaway includes 44,000 commemorative opening day tickets will include a bonus coupon for beer at the World’s Largest Happy Hour, according to Summerfest officials, this ticket will not be able to be purchased.
Summerfest will utilize social media driven scavenger hunts, surprise events, video contests and special promotions for the giveaways. Information on these events has not been released yet.
Opening day headliners include Hall & Oates, Jack’s Mannequin, Meatloaf, Saving Abel, Buddy Guy, Matisyahu and Max Weinberg. The Marcus Amphitheater headliner has not been announced. Summerfest will be held Wednesday, June 29 through Sunday, July 3. It will be closed on Monday, July 4 for the first time in event history and will open again Tuesday, July 5 through Sunday, July 10.
