State Farm will again work to transform neighborhoods across the country this year with its fourth annual State Farm Neighborhood Assist program.
The grant program awards $25,000 grants to 40 projects designed to improve neighborhood conditions for community residents.
The program, which will accept up to 4,000 project entries, is open to anyone. The program’s call for applications opened on March 9 and will close on March 29.
Once the application window closes, the State Farm Youth Advisory Board – a service-learning board comprised of 30 students from across the country and Canada – will vet submissions and select 200 ideas. Those ideas will then enter a public voting period during which the public can vote 10 times a day on Facebook for their favorite project finalists. The 40 causes that garner the most votes will each receive a $25,000 grant from State Farm.
Voting will run from May 14 through June 3.
In the past four years, two Wisconsin-based projects have won program funding, including a 2014 project in Manitowoc that focused on renovating a baseball field to cater to young athletes with disabilities.
