The board of directors of Siebert Lutheran Foundation in Brookfield announced the selection of Brenda Skelton to be the next president and chief executive officer of the private foundation, beginning Aug. 1.
Skelton will succeed Ron Jones, who will retire this fall after 20 years as president, only the third in the foundation’s 59-year history.
Skelton has served as a consultant to nonprofit organizations in marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement for the past five years, including Alverno College, Marquette University, the School Sisters of St. Francis and many others. Previously, her career included executive leadership roles at leading Milwaukee organizations including Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc., Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company Inc., The Milwaukee Wave indoor soccer team and Midwest Express Airlines where she served as senior vice president and on the board of directors for the Milwaukee-based carrier.
The Siebert Lutheran Foundation strives to impact the Lutheran community positively through collaboration, partnerships, and grants to Lutheran ministries, schools, and human service agencies, focusing primarily on the state of Wisconsin. The foundation has assets of nearly $100 million.
