Sick leave pre-emption on its way to Walker’s desk

Legislation to pre-empt Milwaukee’s sick ordinance is now headed to the governor’s desk, and he has indicated he plans to sign it.
"It would be difficult for job creators in Milwaukee if they were on an island on this issue," said Gov. Scott Walker, who indicated he wanted to see the final bill before committing to signing it.
The Assembly on Tuesday voted 59-35 to concur on SB 23, which would prohibit local governments from requiring employers to provide leave to deal with family, medical or health issues.
Democrats ripped the proposal as an assault on local control and a "slap in the face to the people of the city of Milwaukee."
