S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. announced it has reached an agreement to acquire Melvo Holding GmbH, a shoe care company with leading brands sold throughout Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), from a shareholder group led by VR Equitypartner.
The deal adds leading brands that include Salamander, a market leader in Russia, as well as Woly, Woly Sport and Grison, to S.C. Johnson’s shoe care portfolio, which includes the Kiwi and Bama brands.
“Melvo’s leading brands, including Salamander and Woly, are an outstanding fit for S.C. Johnson’s portfolio and will complement our Kiwi and Bama brands,” said Fisk Johnson, chairman and chief executive officer of S.C. S.C. Johnson expects the deal, which includes all aspects of the Melvo business, to be finalized in the coming months, subject to regulatory approvals. As a private company, S.C. Johnson does not disclose details regarding financial or business transactions.
