DOC holding open house for new Glendale offices
The state Department of Corrections’ Division of Community Corrections will host an open house on Friday of its new offices in the Beerline Crossing development at 4160 N. Port Washington Road in Glendale. The DOC is occupying about 43,000 square feet of space, and moved into the space on Nov. 1.The property, the former site of a Becker Foods plant, was acquired in 2005 by Earthbound Development LLC, which has redeveloped it into an office complex. Earthbound demolished 11 of the 17 buildings on the property and redeveloped the other six. The oldest of the buildings on the property, built in 1907, was one of the six that was redeveloped. There is about 28,000 square feet of warehouse space and 9,000 square feet of office build-out space available for lease in the complex, said Brian Monroe, managing partner of Earthbound Development. "Now with the purchase of the abandoned railroad right of way we have created a 1.5 acre out-lot for a new 20,000-square-foot building at the corner of Port Washington Road and Olive Street," Monroe said. "We are working with the cities of Milwaukee and Glendale to put in a controlled intersection there."
