New dialysis center building planned for city’s south side
Oak Creek-based Warren Real Estate Venture Inc. plans to build a 9,750-square-foot dialysis center building on a vacant lot at 2600 W. Howard Ave., Milwaukee, next to a CVS Pharmacy store. The cost of the project is estimated at $2 million. The building will be occupied by Fresenius Medical Care, which plans to close its dialysis center located at 3267 S. 16th St., near the Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare – St. Francis hospital, and move its operations to the proposed new building on Howard Avenue. Once it is fully operational the facility will have 21 full-time employees.
Multi-tenant retail building planned at Chase and Oklahoma
Sheboygan-based PJR Properties LLC plans to build a 10,784-square-foot multi-tenant retail building on a vacant site at 145 W. Oklahoma Ave. in Milwaukee. The site is located near a Piggly Wiggly Store and between a Goodwill store and an Arby’s restaurant at Oklahoma and Chase avenues.
Gaming lounge planned on South 27th Street
Tier 1 LLC plans to open a video gaming lounge in a 2,500-square-foot space at 4350 S. 27th St. in Milwaukee. Tier 1 Gaming Lounge will offer high-end computer and video game station rentals by the hour. The game stations will consist of consoles and large HDTV screens in a modern arcade environment. Themed food and drink will be provided in a café. Tier 1 will also offer computer and phone repair services. The business will have three-full time, and six-part time employees. Tier 1 will also hold events and tournaments. “We aim to be the hub for the video game community,” Tier 1 says in information it submitted to the city.
Restaurant to open in small King Drive building
V&J Foods Inc. plans to open Nino’s Southern Sides restaurant in a 319-square-foot vacant building at 3070 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Milwaukee. It will be a carry-out restaurant serving southern style vegetables, meat and desserts. The cost of the project is estimated at $40,370.
Mueller Communications to add conference room
Mueller Communications plans to remodel the third floor of its building at 1749 N. Prospect Ave. in Milwaukee to create a conference room. The cost of the project is estimated at $60,000.
New communities accepted into WEDC Downtown Revitalization Program
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) has accepted 18 municipalities into its Connect Communities Program, an initiative that works with communities to advance downtown and urban corridor revitalization efforts. Southeastern Wisconsin communities added to the program include: East Troy, Elkhart Lake, Muskego and Elkhorn.
New restaurant planned near MU campus
Gulf of Aden LLC plans to open Mendy Restaurant in the 2040 Lofts Apartments building near the Marquette University campus at 2040 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Milwaukee.
Uline announces downtown Milwaukee office
Pleasant Prairie-based Uline said this week that it opened a human resources office last year in a 1,659-square-foot space in the Plaza East office complex at 330 E. Kilbourn Ave. in downtown Milwaukee.
