The Historic Third Ward portion of the Milwaukee Riverwalk is one of seven projects chosen by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) for the 2007 AIA Institute Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design. The Riverwalk segment was designed by Engberg Anderson Design Partnership Inc. of Milwaukee.
The Milwaukee Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI), recently presented its Local Achievement Awards. The winners of the 2006 Milwaukee/NARI Local Achievement Awards were: Gordy Ziglinski “Spirit of Education” Award: Diane Ausavich of Carl Krueger Construction, Marvin Johnson Meritorious Service Award: Tom Callen of Callen Construction Inc., Mary Fox-Hagner Lifetime Achievement Award: Robert Zidar of Concrete Raising Corp., Government Affairs Award: Tony Rink of Renovators Ltd., Professionalism Award: Tom Feiza of Mr. Fix-It Inc., Certified Lead Carpenter “Superstar” Award: Bill Hamm of Kerzner Inc., Certified Kitchen and Bath “Superstar” Award: Gary Millard of Wooden Thumb Inc., Certified Professional of the Year: Dean Herriges of Urban Herriges & Sons, Peter H. Johnson Image Award: Bill Bobrowitz of the Milwaukee/NARI Office, Affiliate Organization of the Year: von Briesen & Roper S.C., Distributor of the Year: Stock Building Supply Inc., Media Outlet of the Year: Metroparent Magazine.
