The Wisconsin Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute has named Michael Zimmerman, a senior vice president of investor relations at Milwaukee-based MGIC Investment Corp., president of the chapter for 2012-13. Zimmerman will also serve on the Wisconsin Chapter NIRI Board of Directors. Green Bay-based Associated Bank Corp. has hired five new executives in the Milwaukee area. Tim Wnuk has joined Associated Bank as senior vice president, account executive director. Jill Grob has been hired as senior vice president, regulatory compliance audit director. William “Beau” Stubbs III joins as vice president, enhanced due diligence manager. The three will be located at 330 E. Kilbourn Ave., Milwaukee. Scott Hanson has been hired as vice president, property and casualty insurance sales manager. Anthony Ferro has been named vice president, construction project manager in the bank’s Hales Corners office at Highway 100 and Forest Home Avenue.
Milwaukee Downtown Business Improvement District has named Leah Thomas its first marketing and events coordinator. Primary responsibilities of the new position include coordination and implementation of special events, as well as assistance with fundraising and sponsorship fulfillment.

Robert Buckla, an institutional advancement executive with more than 25 years of education experience, has been named vice president of university advancement at Cardinal Stritch University in Fox Point. Since 2009, Buckla had been the senior director of college programs/major and leadership gifts at Illinois Institute of Technology, where he was part of a leadership team that raised more than $104 million in operating, capital and endowment support as part of a $250 million campaign.
Gene Gilchrist has been named executive director of the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center in Wauwatosa. He has more than 30 years experience in academic institutions with finance, government relations and health care management roles.
Dr. Travis Fisher has been named the new medical director for the Froedtert Health Community Memorial Hospital Mental Health Center in Menomonee Falls. Fisher is a board-certified psychiatrist with sub-specialty training in psychosomatic medicine, which focuses on providing psychiatric care in non-psychiatric settings and to medically complex patients.

Davis & Kuelthau, S.C. announced that former Circuit Court Judge Nelson Phillips III has joined the firm’s Milwaukee office as part of the litigation group. Phillips was appointed by Gov. Scott Walker to serve as a Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge for Branch 17 in October 2011. Phillips’ experience also includes working as a senior litigation associate with Godfrey & Kahn S.C. in Milwaukee where he handled contract, commercial, labor and employment and general legal disputes.
