Rebecca Scarberry opened her bakery as a stay at home mom four years ago. At the time it was a part-time hobby she used to pass the time. In March of this year, Scarberry started making her caramels on a full time basis and recently formed a partnership with Milwaukee’s Lakefront Brewery.
“I wasn’t planning on this being my full time job,” Scarberry said. “I kept telling my self, you are a single parent, you have no business starting a business.”
Becky’s Blissful Bakery, located in Pewaukee, uses 100 percent organic ingredients, she makes six different caramel flavors including her newest beer and preztel carmel using Lakefront Brewery’s organic beer.
“Their beer is fantastic, and I was looking for a local company I could work with in a way that would be equally beneficial to us both,” Scarberry said. “I made a batch of caramels using the beer and added organic pretzels.I brought it to Lakefront to see what they thought.”
According to Scarberry, Lakefront Brewery loved the caramels and the two companies began working together to design a logo and begin marketing the product.
“She has a quality product,” said Russ Klisch, president of Lakefront Brewery. “Anytime we can support another local company, and get our logo out there on a quality product that’s good for us as well.”
Scarberry is in the process of developing other caramels using other local companies as well. For more information on Becky’s Blissful Bakery and the relationship with Lakefront Brewery, check out the video below.
