Cincinnati-based Pro Mach Inc. announced it has acquired Federal Manufacturing Co. of Milwaukee.
Federal Manufacturing, which operates a plant at 201 W. Walker St., is a leading provider of rotary liquid filling packaging machinery.
Federal will join Pro Mach’s Primary Packaging Business Unit, which provides primary and secondary packaging machinery solutions and consumables for many of the world’s most recognized food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and household goods companies.
Pro Mach is a leading provider of integrated packaging products and solutions for food, beverage, household goods, pharmaceutical, and other diverse consumer and industrial companies.
“Pro Mach has been busy acquiring companies. Our policy is we keep the brand, we keep the name and keep the employees right where they are. You won’t see any changes,” Pro Mach spokesman Jack Aguero told BizTimes today. “We’re going to invest in Federal and grow its capabilities.”
“With the acquisition of Federal Manufacturing, Pro Mach is entering the liquid filler market in a significant way,” said Mark Anderson, Pro Mach president and chief executive officer. “Federal has an excellent product line and talented people that complement our existing capabilities and customer base. We will continue to invest in Federal to grow their business and further develop their product and service capabilities. We have an outstanding opportunity to create synergies with our Fowler Products capping business and other Pro Mach brands. With the addition of Federal solutions to our extensive portfolio, we continue to strengthen our position as a world leader in packaging machinery, integrated solutions, and customer service.”
Federal’s leadership team, including Frank Johanek and Otis Cobb will remain with Pro Mach. Johanek joins Pro Mach as general manager for the Federal brand. Cobb joins Pro Mach as Federal vice president of sales.
“Pro Mach and Federal share a common tradition for customer service and product excellence,” said Don Cotney, Pro Mach’s vice president and general manager for Fowler Products. “We are enthusiastic about the benefits our combined product portfolio provides both Fowler and Federal customers, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with their team on new solutions and services.”
“This is a win-win for our customers and team,” said Johanek. “Pro Mach has a strong reputation for investing in its brands – many of which are more than 50 years old – and creating product synergies that benefit its customers. This will help ensure the continued growth of the Federal brand, while also introducing Pro Mach to new markets and customers.”
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
