Susie Johnson, head coach for women’s volleyball at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, has guided student-athletes at UWM for more than 27 years, including 10 years as an assistant and associate head coach.
Since taking over as head coach in 2007, Johnson has led UW-Milwaukee to 285 wins, six regular season titles, four league-tournament titles and four NCAA appearances. She has compiled a 511-284 record in 27 seasons – including a 250-74 home record.
“She has long proven her coaching and leadership skills for all student-athletes involved,” said James Ocker, a teacher for the Clinton Community School District. “Her records speak volumes of her commitment to the student-athletes and area organizations. Her impressive record … secures her as a highly skilled, competitive spirit who values success through hard work and determination.”
Johnson’s players have earned all-league honors 68 times under her leadership. Her players have earned AVCA All-America honors 10 times and AVCA All-Region honors 22 times.
