Since joining Milwaukee-based Penfield Children’s Center’s board in 2014 and now serving as board president, Alvaro Araque has led the organization in a new direction.
Araque is senior vice president, director of consumer, private and business banking at Racine-based Johnson Financial Group.
“Al is guiding the development of a transformative strategic plan that has positioned Penfield for growth and expansion into new early intervention services. His leadership has strengthened Penfield’s mission to ensure children have positive early experiences from before birth through age 5, when the foundations for lifelong development are established,” said Megan Wurz, vice president of partnerships and investments at Penfield.
In addition, Araque is chair of the Wisconsin Bankers Association board of directors. He also served as chair of the board of directors for HPGM (Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee) from 2017 to 2023.
“As a fellow Penfield board member, I’ve experienced Al Araque’s leadership firsthand,” said Phyllis King, chief strategist for AI Advancement at Waukesha County Technical College. “Al brings the board together with compassion and vision, always keeping the children at the heart of every decision.”
