Notable BIPOC Executives: Ana Simpson

Class of 2025

Ana Simpson is the first Latina to serve as chief executive officer of Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast. As CEO, she guides GSWISE to create opportunities for girls of all backgrounds and abilities to thrive with life-changing experiences in life skills, outdoors, entrepreneurship and STEM, according to Emily Roethle, GSWISE director of marketing and communications.

“She’s worked locally with staff to bring in DEI experts to help fulfill the organization’s goal of representing the demographics of the communities it serves,” Roethle said.

Under Simpson’s leadership, GSWISE increased Hispanic membership 14.3% and Black membership 40% year-over-year. The organization’s community outreach program served 2,000-plus participants last year, which was a 30% increase year-over-year.

“Ana serves on the GSUSA Strategy Working Group to bring this expertise and guidance on a national level,” Roethle said.

Simpson serves on the boards of La Familia de Arte, La Casa de Esperanza, and TEMPO Milwaukee, as vice chair. She is also involved with Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee and was appointed to serve on the Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy and Capability.
