The Sentry Foods grocery store at 5740 Washington Ave. in Mt. Pleasant is expected to close in January. The store opened in 2007.
Albrecht Food Racine LLC notified the state Department of Workforce Development that it anticipates closing the store on Jan. 11. All of the 60 employees at the store will lose their jobs when the store closes.
In a letter to the DWD, Albrecht said the reason for the closure is “the inability to realize needed sales for success.”

Meanwhile, Wal-Mart plans to build a 41,000-square-foot Neighborhood Market store nearby at 5625 Washington Ave.
