Miller’s Bakery plans to expand with a 13,000-square-foot addition to its facility at 8313 N. Steven Road in Milwaukee and will shift all production of its Pretzilla line of pretzel buns there from its headquarters location at 1415 N. Fifth St.
The company is seeking a $600,000 loan from the Milwaukee Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) for the expansion project, and to acquire new equipment. The MEDC Loan and Finance Committee will review the request for the loan at their meeting on Tuesday.
“(Miller’s Bakery’s) current baking location/headquarters…in downtown Milwaukee no longer has the production capacity to keep up with the demand for their pretzel products. Expansion will allow them to grow volume efficiently,” an MEDC report on the loan request says.
The company will continue making fresh rolls at the 5th Street facility, the MEDC report says.
