Last Family Day of the summer at Bradford Beach

Friends of Bradford Beach will host the last of four Family Day events of the summer on Saturday, Sept 12, from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. This weekend’s Family Day includes activities for kids, including sand castle building contests being run by members of Kiwanis Club of Milwaukee, a treasure hunt for prizes, kid-size volleyball courts sponsored by Bradford Beach Jam, a performance by Accompany of Kids, environmental awareness activities by REI, kiddie bike repair by the Milwaukee Bicycle Collective, and back to school items donated by UPS, along with chances to win an autographed NASCAR replica of David Ragan’s Ford Car #6.

"When we looked at what was going on at Bradford Beach last summer and the work that Friends of Bradford Beach was doing to bring families back to the beach, we realized the power in supporting and promoting Bradford Beach as a fun, inspiring, educational and economical experience for all families, and that’s a match with our mission" said David Drent, president of the Kiwanis Club.

"We’re also excited to continue to build our partnership with Whole Foods Market, who will present Friends of Bradford Beach with a check for $2,500 during this weekend’s activities," said Chris Schindler, one of the co-chairs for Friends of Bradford Beach.
