What does your daily or weekly fitness regimen consist of?

powerwalking 3 times per week for 2 miles per walk,

1 hour of aerobics and weight lifting 2 to 3 times per week

What fitness clubs do you belong to, if any?

Westwood, Pewaukee

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life?

It gives me on going energy and helps clear my mind, helps release stress and tension and improves my overall feeling of well being.

It also sets a great example for my children to integrate this into their own lives for health and self support.

How does personal fitness affect your work life?

Same as above. It also keeps me authentic in my work.I practice what I preach and can speak to my patients authentically as I have been able to make fitness a priority for self care and self support eventhough I am a busy business woman and a single mother of two teenagers.

Do you have a corporate health or wellness initiative?

No

What health/wellness organizations do you contract with, if any?

N/A

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization?

I am a practitioner of wellness and promote it extensively with my staff. They have learned to workout and to become more conscious of making healthier choices. They see me practicing what  I preach and it engenders more respect for them towards me. Also, with their own lifestyles that have been influenced by mine, they feel better and are healthier, reducing sick time and increasing the energy and motivation at work.

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative?

Don’t wait to do this for yourself and your organization. The benefits are immense and you can make a huge impact in the health of your organization individually and systemically. In addition, you will have happier employees and less health care overhead.
