Education:

“I graduated from Homestead High School, but earned my degree on the roof. I spent 20 years in the field, starting as an apprentice in the ‘70s, when you didn’t have to be politically correct with everything you said and you learned quickly that you either toughened up or you were not going to make it. My first few years were quite an education.”

Family:

Wife, Pamela; and four adult daughters, Brooke, Shawna, Amy, and Kate.

What was the smartest thing your company did in the past year?

“Since we are less than a year old, I think the smartest thing we did is to start the company with the attitude that our service is of the utmost importance and that exemplary service is what sets us apart from all our competitors, and to convey that same feeling through our staff of experienced service technicians.”

What’s new at your company?

“Without letting out any secrets, Web-based roof management is hot, and so is solar power-generating roof systems.”

Do you plan to hire any additional staff or make any significant capital investments in your company in the next year?

“Yes, we plan on hiring a CAD person, along with that the investment of the equipment to perform theses tasks. As our service grows, we will need to expand that part of the business also, which will include additional trucks, ladders and small tools.”

What will be your company’s main challenges in the next year?

“The biggest challenges and what is most important in our business is to grow without disappointing our current customers. Through our business relationships, these people have become our friends, and the last thing you want to do is disappoint the people that have followed you into a new endeavor. We pride ourselves with quick response times and accurate results. We all know how annoying roof leaks can be.”

What’s the hottest trend in your industry?

“I think solar power-generated through your roof system will be very hot in the near future.”

Do you have a business mantra?

“Our mission statement is to provide exemplary service and create relationships by helping our customers with their roofing challenges.”

From a business standpoint, who do you look up to?

“My predecessor, the late Bob Vincent, is my hero. I don’t think I ever heard anyone say a bad word about him. His attitude was that we were there to help people with their roof problems and not sell them a roof. Vince Lombardi’s statement (‘What it Takes to be Number One’) is very true and inspirational.”

What was the best advice you ever received?

“The best advice I have ever had was learning from my parents on how to treat people with respect. My dad could talk to anybody; being a phy ed teacher and a coach, he touched a tremendous amount of people. And my mom is one of the most loving, sweetest ladies you would ever want to meet.”

What do you like to do in your free time?

“We enjoy our beautiful home near Holy Hill and hunting of any kind.”
