What was the smartest thing your company did in the past yearω
“Hiring our first marketing manager.”
What’s new at your companyω
“We just purchased a new subsidiary located in St. Louis, Mo. The professionals in that office, coupled with our existing team, will enhance the service we provide to our client base that is located throughout the Midwest. Together, our knowledge base and commitment to excellence will make Security MicroImaging an even better organization and provide us with further opportunities in the future.”
Do you plan to hire any additional staff or make any significant capital investments in your company in the next yearω
“We’ve been planning on expanding our staff further with the addition of an HR manager and an inside sales representative for quite some time now. I believe 2007 might be our year for expanding in these areas. In our 35 years in business, we have always carefully contemplated decisions like these, and we pride ourselves in achieving steady, controlled growth. I also have been talking with an office furniture designer to update an additional area of our corporate offices. It’s important to have a nice environment for our staff, clients, and partners to enjoy.”
What will be your company’s main challenges in the next yearω
“With the purchase of our new subsidiary, I see some minor growing pains associated with effectively integrating newly acquired business into our day-to-day operations. I think it’s important for a business to continually assess their daily processes – not only because we’re in the IT industry but mainly because it’s important for a company’s survival.”
What’s the hottest trend in your industryω
“Integrating enterprise content management in small and medium-sized businesses. In today’s market, there are solutions to fit every budget. Enterprise content management is no longer viewed as a luxury only
available to large organizations. In contrast, it’s a necessity to all businesses, regardless of size, because of the overwhelming volume of documents and unstructured data the typical company accumulates.”
Do you have a business mantraω
“Listen, anticipate, act.”
From a business standpoint, who do you look up toω
“My father. He was a successful business owner for 20+ years and taught me that business is primarily about relationships – building them and maintaining them by simply doing what you said you were going to do.”
What was the best advice you ever receivedω
“Do it right the first time.”
What do you like to do in your free timeω
“I enjoy fishing with my friends. It’s always a good day when there’s
fishing involved.”
