Italian firm to move some U.S. operations to Oak Creek

Regina USA Inc., the Cambridge, Md.-based U.S. division of Borgo San Michele, Italy-based Regina, plans to move some of its operations to Oak Creek.

Regina is a manufacturer of chains for a variety of applications, including motorcycles, and conveying components and belt systems. One of the company’s major customers is Harley-Davidson Inc.

Regina recently signed a 10-year lease for 63,899 square feet of space at 305 E. Mahn Ct. in Oak Creek, said Peter Ginn, regional director for Chicago-based First Industrial Realty Trust Inc., which owns the 103,000-square-foot building. Scott Furmanski and Roger Siegel of CB Richard Ellis represented First Industrial and Steve Sewart of Inland Companies represented Regina in brokering the lease.

Regina USA will move into the building in early December. About 40 people will work at the facility, Ginn said. A representative for Regina could not be reached for comment.

First Industrial completed construction of an 81,325-square-foot industrial building at 7420 S. Howell Ave. and the adjacent building that Regina will occupy in July of 2007. The buildings were constructed on speculation and are finally filling up. In addition to the Regina deal, Wisconsin Energy Corp. recently signed a five-year lease for the entire 81,325-square-foot building. Wisconsin Energy will use the building to store materials and equipment for the Oak Creek power plant project. For that lease Sewart and Tom Shepherd of Inland Companies represented Wisconsin Energy and Siegel and Furmanski represented First Industrial.

The building that Regina will occupy still has about 40,000 square feet of space available for lease, Ginn said.
