Graphics Systems Corp. is more than a reseller of engineering software. The Menomonee Falls-based firm also serves as an engineering software training facility. Every month, more than 115 people attend one of the company’s 33 classes.

As the nation’s top SolidWorks subscription provider, a maker of 3D software tools, Graphics Systems provides engineering solutions to more than 1,500 customers every year, including design software implementation, data management, consulting and training.

The company prides itself on providing superior customer support services. In addition to online and phone support, the company publishes a newsletter and maintains a technical tips blog. All of the resources help the company build a sense of community.

“It’s easier to support a customer who is more knowledgeable,” said company president, David Kasinskas of the training. “Things that we don’t know, we like to bring in the experts.”

Training clients on-site benefits the customers by teaching them to use software tools. But it also gives Graphics Systems the chance to build successful relationships with their clients.

“If you don’t know the customer, you don’t know their needs,” Kasinskas said. “They can go anywhere.”

Lucky for Kasinskas, customers have been returning to Graphics Systems for more than 20 years, earning the engineering company an exceptional reputation all over the region.

Wanting to maintain that high level of success, Kasinskas began rearranging the firm’s best practices in-house a few years ago. He recharged his managerial staff, worked to foster teamwork between employees and added a mentoring and training program for new staff members.

Graphics Systems’s revenues grew by about 10 percent in the past year. Though Kasinskas said the company is considering an acquisition to grow the company, the firm remains committed to its clients in Wisconsin.

“It’s all about people and what you invest in them,” Kasinskas said. “Relationships are so important.”
