Goodwill Industries names new CEO

Goodwill Industries in southeast Wisconsin and metropolitan Chicago has named Jacqueline Hallberg as its new president and chief executive officer.

The announcement will go into effect Jan. 1, 2013. Goodwill Industries is a $240 million nonprofit.
โ€œJackie has many strengths but what really stood out for the board was her leadership and success with large-scale workforce development operations, which are critical to Goodwillโ€™s strategic direction,โ€ said Rich Meeusen, board chairman, Goodwill. โ€œThroughout her 22 years at Goodwill, Jackie has demonstrated innovation and an amazing ability to work with diverse groups, leading to positive outcomes for the organization.โ€
Hallberg has held several positions with Goodwill Industries over the past 22 years.
She began as manager of Goodwillโ€™s workforce development programs for economically disadvantaged individuals in Kenosha and Waukesha, followed by three years as director of Kenosha County, WI and Lake County, IL programs, In 2002, she was promoted to vice president, Goodwill Great Lakes and was responsible for federal contracts at Naval Station Great Lakes, employing over 700 men and women with significant disabilities.
Hallberg takes over a financially stable and thriving organization that served over 48,000 men and women last year. She has been mentored by current president and CEO John L. Miller since she started at Goodwill in 1990.
โ€œJackie comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience in mission-focused services as well as the development of strategic direction for the organization,โ€ said John Miller, president and CEO of Goodwill for 30 years. โ€œI am leaving this organization with a strong leader that will help Goodwill thrive and grow into the future.โ€
Hallberg has held several positions with increasing responsibilities over the past 22 years. Two years later, Hallbergโ€™s responsibilities grew and she was promoted to senior vice president of Federal Services, leading the strategic direction and operation of Goodwillโ€™s federal contracts at Naval Station Great Lakes.
