Hunzinger Construction Company recently celebrated its 100th anniversary with a special benefit for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Wisconsin. The event was held at Hunzinger’s headquarters in Brookfield with more 500 guests in attendance. The event raised $40,673 for Make-A-Wish.
Hunzinger was founded in Davenport, Iowa, in 1907 and was incorporated in the Milwaukee area in 1928. The company was involved in the construction of many of Milwaukee’s most prominent buildings including: The U.S. Bank Tower, the Catholic Knights Building, the M&I Bank Tower, County Stadium, Miller Park, the Midwest Airlines Center, the Bradley Center, the Summerfest grounds, U.S. Cellular Arena, the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Milwaukee, Miller Brewing Company offices and the Pabst Brewing Company offices.
On Thursday, Dec. 6, Pewaukee-based VJS Construction Services will host a Diamond Anniversary celebration to commemorate its 60th anniversary. Projects completed by the company over the years include health care facilities, nursing homes, retirement communities, financial institutions, sophisticated religious structures, corporate office buildings, manufacturing facilities, schools and university buildings.
