Back to Business

As the economy continues to slowly recover from the Great Recession, construction activity is beginning to pick up in southeastern Wisconsin.

A 30-story residential tower is under construction in downtown Milwaukee. Several hotels have been proposed. Wal-Mart plans to build several new stores in the area. A major renovation is planned for Southridge Mall in Greendale and a new shopping center, anchored by a high end Von Maur department store, is planned in the Town of Brookfield.

Having survived a depression in their industry during the Great Recession, contractors, subcontractors and architects are getting back to work this year. But construction activity is still well behind pre-recession levels and the competition is stiff between contractors and architects for new projects.

To help business take advantage of that competitive landscape and find the best builders and designers offering the most competitive bids, BizTimes Milwaukee presents the Construction & Design Building, Architect and Subcontractor Directory.

This directory features local organizations with products or services for the construction, design and renovation of commercial buildings and office environments. Firms that are eligible to be in the directory include: construction firms, architecture firms, interior designers, restoration services and specialty contractors.

The companies listed in this directory are based in the eight-county southeastern Wisconsin region (Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Kenosha, Walworth, Ozaukee, Washington and Sheboygan counties).

Entries submitted after the print deadline can be viewed online.
