CNH Industrial America LLC has announced it will lay off about 100 full-time employees from its Mount Pleasant manufacturing facility.
The company said the move comes as it “responds to market conditions.” Several other layoffs have been announced at CNH plants this week, including 20 in St. Nazianz, Wis., 80 in North Dakota and 136 in Nebraska.
Mount Pleasant CNH workers were informed of the decision on Feb. 27. The layoff is indefinite, and is expected to begin in March and be completed by April, said company spokesperson Kathleen Prause.
Prause declined to give the total number of employees at the Mount Pleasant plant, located at 2205 Durand Ave.
Leaders at United Auto Workers Local 180, which represents the employees, could not be reached for comment.
In October, CNH laid off about 150 workers at the Mount Pleasant plant, which makes Case IH Magnum and New Holland 8000 series tractors.
