VISIT Milwaukee recognized Cecilia Gilbert, Russ Klisch and Tim Dixon with the 2011 Lamplighter Awards for each of their contributions in helping Milwaukee stand out as an attractive city to visit. All three were honored at VISIT Milwaukee’s annual meeting on July 26 at the Milwaukee Theatre, according to an announcement from the city tourism organization.

Cardinal Stritch University has appointed Thomas Myers as chairman of the university’s board of trustees, according to a recent statement from the university. Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson Inc. reported that its second quarter profit of $247.25 million, up 29.7 percent from its 2011 second quarter profit of $190.58 million. Diluted earnings per share were $1.07, up 32 percent from 81 cents in the 2011 second quarter.
