Former Third Wave CEO joins Prodesse board
Waukesha-based biotech firm Prodesse Inc. recently announced that Kevin T. Conroy has been elected to the company’s board of directors. Conroy was appointed president and chief executive officer of Marlborough, Mass.-based Exact Sciences Corp., a molecular diagnostics company, in April 2009. He served as president and CEO of Madison-based Third Wave Technologies Inc., also a molecular diagnostics company, from December 2005 until the company’s acquisition by Hologic Inc. in July 2008. Prior to joining Third Wave, Conroy served as intellectual property counsel at GE Healthcare. Conroy also served as chief operating officer of two early-stage, venture-backed technology companies in Northern California.
MGIC re-elects board members
Milwaukee-based MGIC Investment Corp.‘s shareholders recently re-elected four directors who each will serve three-year terms on the company’s board of directors. The re-elected board members are: Karl Case, Curt Culver, William McIntosh and Leslie Muma. Culver is the company’s chairman and CEO. Case is the Katharine Coman and A.Barton Hepburn Professor of Economics at Wellesley College. McIntosh was a managing director at Salomon Brothers Inc., an investment banking firm, when he retired in 1995 after 35 years of service. He is also a director of Northwestern Mutual Series Fund Inc. Muma is the retired former CEO of Brookfield-based Fiserv Inc.
