Direct Supply Inc.

Milwaukee-based Direct Supply Inc. has opened the Direct Supply Technology Center at MSOE. The Technology Center will house up to 60 Direct Supply computer engineers and technology interns. It occupies more than 9,000 square feet in the German-English Academy building on the MSOE campus.

Bob Hillis, president and CEO of Direct Supply Inc. is a member of the MSOE Board of Regents. He called the development of the center an opportunity for engineering interns and full-time engineers to collaborate more closely with MSOE faculty and students on new technology and innovation.

According to Hermann Viets, president of MSOE, there are 57 MSOE alumni who work at Direct Supply and 15 students who are interning there now.

Chameleon Brewing Company

Glendale-based Chameleon Brewing Company’s Witty, a Belgian White Wheat Ale with Spices was

named the number one 2012 Belgian Wit beer based on results from the 2012 U.S. Open Beer Championship. The Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. Witty scored top honors over a number of other American breweries, including Brewery Ommegang’s Witte, Allagash Brewing Company’s Allagash White, Hoegaarden Brewery’s Hoegaarden and New Belgium Brewing’s Mothership Wit. At 5.4 percent alcohol by volume, Witty has enough character to stand on its own, but it also pairs very well with sandwiches, cheeses, and summer fare. Sprecher Brewmaster Craig Burge, made it true to style, featuring orange, coriander, and grains of paradise.

Interiorscapes by the Plant Market

Milwaukee-based, Interiorscapes, received an award of merit from the Plantscape Industry Alliance. This award was presented to lead designer, Luke Struve, in the category of design for private residence. Interiorscapes has been providing professional plant care and design for over 30 years to businesses throughout Wisconsin.

Marquette University

Marquette University has received a $1 million donation from Marquette School of Dentistry alumnus Dr. Jeff Moos and his wife, Beth, to go toward the Building for the Future campaign and help fund the school’s 40,000-square-foot expansion.

Both Jeff and Beth earned Marquette degrees. Jeff, who graduated from the dental school in 1983 and achieved an undergraduate degree in biology in 1979, serves as part owner, CEO and chief dental officer of Midwest and Mountain Dental, a group dental practice located in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, New Mexico and Colorado. The dental group has continued to support Marquette’s dental school with contributions to the expansion campaign and student scholarships.

Two of the Moos’ sons are currently pursuing degrees at the dental school, and Jeff’s uncle and two cousins are also Marquette dentistry graduates.

Marquette will name the dental school’s faculty practice clinic for the Moos.
