Bidding on Bernie

In the aftermath of a public relations stunt that ran amuck, the Milwaukee Brewers are salvaging the moment by raising money for a good cause.
The Brewers received some unfortunate publicity recently when they planted 1,400 Bernie Brewer yard ornaments in good faith in parks throughout Wisconsin. However, several people decided to hoard as many of the lawn ornaments they could get their hands on, leaving other fans out in the cold.
Still, more than 20 Brewers players autographed one authentic Bernie Brewer lawn ornament, which is now being auctioned at www.brewers.com (click on the “Shop” tab).
The ornament includes autographs from the following players: John Axford, Ryan Braun, Craig Counsell, Marco Estrada, Prince Fielder, Yovani Gallardo, Carlos Gomez, Zack Greinke, Brandon Kintzler, Mark Kotsay, Kameron Loe, Jonathan Lucroy, Shaun Marcum, Mike McClendon, Casey McGehee, Nyjer Morgan, Chris Narveson, Takashi Saito, Rickie Weeks, Josh Wilson and Randy Wolf.
The auction will close on Wednesday, June 15, at 5 p.m.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit Brewers Community Foundation.
