Aurora Health Care’s operating income up in Q3

Aurora Health Care reported a 12.2 percent increase in operating income in the third quarter of 2017, compared to the same period last year, according to recently released financial information.

Aurora posted $1.3 billion in revenue in the third quarter of 2017, a 4.8 percent increase from the same period in 2016.

After deducting expenses, it had an operating income of $60.7 million in the third quarter, up from $54.1 million in the same period last year.

Aurora’s expenses increased by $52.7 million in the third quarter of 2017 compared to the third quarter of 2016. The increase was largely driven by increases in salaries, wages and fringe benefits.

Aurora paid $43.2 million more in salaries in the third quarter of 2017 compared to the same period in 2016.
