Beloit-based building products distributor ABC Supply Co. Inc. has acquired the assets of Show Low, Arizona-based roofing products distributor Sidewinder Supply Inc.
ABC said it will keep the Sidewinder location operational and Wane Margeson will continue as branch manager. The acquisition offers ABC an entry into Navajo County, which contains parts of the Hopi Indian reservation, Navajo Nation and Fort Apache Indian Reservation, and gives contractors there additional roofing and siding product options.
“Sidewinder Supply has built a solid reputation as the go-to supplier of metal roofing for contractors in Navajo County,” said Matt Cooper, vice president of ABC Supply’s West Region. “By expanding the products available to their customers and offering enhanced delivery options, we will make it easier for contractors to grow their businesses.”
ABC Supply, the largest U.S. wholesale distributor of roofing, siding, windows and gutters, has 10,000 employees at more than 600 locations across the country. In 2015, the privately held company, owned by Diane Hendricks, had about $5.9 billion in sales.
The company has been actively acquiring other firms. Last month, ABC acquired L&W Supply Corp., a division of Chicago-based USG Corp. that distributes gypsum wallboard, suspended ceiling tiles, steel framing and other building materials, for $670 million. ABC also acquired Hudson, Ohio-based Norandex Building Materials Distribution Inc. in November.
