Professional Supply plans to expand its town of Sheboygan facility by 20,200 square feet to meet growing demand, according to records from the town and Department of Natural Resources.
The full-line janitorial and maintenance supply company is located at 4828 Professional Drive, in a 32,300-square-foot building constructed in 1993. The building occupies the eastern half of the 3.75-acre parcel, and the company plans to expand onto the western half, according to a report filed with the DNR by a project consultant.
“To meet increased local demand and expand their service area, they need
to expand the capacity and footprint of their existing facility,” the report states.
Town board members approved a conditional use permit related to the project during their meeting on Tuesday, staffers confirmed. The town board agenda states the expansion will be for storage, which will allow for a greater distribution area.
The company has also filed an application with the DNR to fill about 6,900 square feet of wetland, about one quarter of the 0.66 acres of wetland identified on the site.
According to the DNR records, the company originally drew up plans in 2014 for a 30,350-square-foot warehouse addition addition, which would have impacted about 21,000 square feet of wetland. The new addition plan represents the minimum amount of space Professional Supply needs and impacts a smaller portion of wetland.
Professional Supply officials were not immediately available for comment. According to its website, the company has 20 employees and distributes nationwide. It has customers in 49 states, Puerto Rico and Canada.
