Companies seeking public assistance from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. would face an additional layer of scrutiny under a policy change working its way through the troubled agency’s board review process.
The policy would require the agency to conduct updated staff reviews and background checks on companies every six months before offering new awards or amending existing contracts.
