Historic Milwaukee Inc. recently honored Milwaukee-based Johnson Controls, Inc. with the 2010 Remarkable Milwaukee Award.
The award is presented annually to an organization that has a strong history in Milwaukee and has made an exemplary contribution to Milwaukee’s built environment. The winner’s history and accomplishments will be highlighted for one year through HMI’s events and programs, and their Milwaukee employees may attend any HMI Walking Tour at no charge for an entire year.
Johnson Control’s headquarters of building efficiency is located in an historic 1901 building in downtown Milwaukee which was also one of the first LEED-certified buildings in the world.
Past honorees have included Northwestern Mutual, Zilber Corporation, The Pfister Hotel and Marcus Corporation.
Johnson Controls will accept the award at the Fourth Annual Remarkable Milwaukee event on Monday, Oct. 18 at the Pfister Hotel, 424 E.Wisconsin Ave., beginning at 4 p.m. Johnson Controls will give excuslive tours of its worldwide headquarters during the event for a limited number of attendees. The event will also feature the art and history tours of the Pfister, a silent auction, an hor d’oeuvres reception, and a presentation by Aurum Design firm and guest speaker Dave Myers, president of building efficiency at Johnson Controls.
