Koss Corp., the Milwaukee-based high-fidelity headphone company, reported fiscal first quarter net income of $366,153, or 5 cents per share, up from $280,597, or 4 cents per share, in the same period a year ago.
The company’s quarterly sales grew to $8.9 million from $8.8 million a year earlier.
“Sales to U.S. domestic retailers continued to increase in the quarter due to new customers added late in our fiscal year ended June 30, 2012,” Michael Koss, president and chief executive officer, told employees. “Our European sales continue to be soft based upon the challenging economy there.”
The company will pay a dividend of 6 cents per share on Dec. 28, to shareholders of record on Dec. 14.
Koss Corp. markets a line of high-fidelity headphones, speaker-phones, computer headsets, telecommunications headsets, active noise canceling headphones, wireless headphones, and compact disc recordings of American Symphony Orchestras on the Koss Classics label.
