*Saturday, March 16, the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society-Wisconsin Chapter will host the 2013 MS Summit. The event will serve as a capstone for MS Awareness Week, March 11-17, and will feature area health care speakers knowledgeable about MS and studying treatment options. The summit will also unite families and individuals impacted by MS to encourage support among one another. The event is free to attend. Registration is required, but the deadline has already passed. *Wednesday, March 20, BoardStar Inc. will hold a workshop, “Orientation Express,” to teach new nonprofit board members the basics of serving on a board and refresh experienced board members on the responsibilities of a board. The workshop will address productivity at board meetings; expectations for board committees; how a board is involved in fundraising, financial processes, policymaking and planning for the future; and how a board functions differently from a staff. The session will feature speaker Karen Higgins, president at KWH Consulting. Cost is $35 for BoardStar members and $50 for nonmembers. The workshop will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Pathfinders, 4200 N. *Wednesday, March 20, the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) Greater Milwaukee Chapter will host a social at Trinity Three Irish Pubs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The event will include opportunities for networking and is free to attend. *Friday, March 22, the Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM) will host MAM After Dark, “Mad Men” themed. Presented by the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, the event will include live music from the band “Majestic Mudd;” music from DJ Chris Schulist; cocktail lessons led by Bittercube; a poetry slam; and an opportunity to tour the newest MAM exhibit, “Color Rush.” The event is free for MAM members, free for attendees (and a friend) who become members at the door, $13 at the door and $8 in advance. *Sunday, March 24, Stillwaters Cancer Support Services will host the third annual “Hospital Food Fight,” a culinary competition among executive chefs from area hospitals. Chefs will have one hour to make a meal they would serve to their hospital patients. Meals will be judged according to taste, nutrition, presentation and overall appeal by a group of local chefs and food critics. The event, which is open to the public, will also include taste test stations, an opportunity for attendees to vote for their favorite taste test station, cooking and nutrition seminars, and games and crafts for kids. Cost is $35 for adults with complimentary admission for kids age 12 and under. Proceeds will benefit Stillwaters Cancer Support Services. *Thursday, March 28, BizTimes Media in partnership with The Wellness council will present the annual Humana Wellness Summit focused on health care savings and bottom line gains. The summit will feature presentations by area health care experts in cardiocare, exercise and fitness, nutrition, and emotional and mental health. Attendees will learn how to improve employee well-being as well as how to convert health and wellness into a business strategy. The event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Crowne Plaza Milwaukee West, 10499 Innovation Dr. in Wauwatosa. Cost to attend is $35 for individuals and $250 for a corporate table of eight.
