MCFI, which offers programs and resources to help people with disabilities gain more independence in the Milwaukee community, has received accreditation for its Community Living Program, L.I.F.E. The nonprofit has also been accredited for its employment services including vocation evaluation, community employment, supported employment, work services, and occupational skills training.

In its 75th year, MCFI impacts nearly 15,000 individuals throughout Milwaukee each year. To be considered for accreditation, the organization underwent an extensive peer review process and hosted a team of surveyors from across the country at an onsite visit.

“MCFI is well respected throughout the community by referral sources, families of persons served, and those who fund the various services of the organization,” according to CARF’s report.

MCFI also customizes services and support for individuals as staff members work to create a safe and supportive environment for those being served, the report also stated.

The accreditation that CARF granted MCFI is the highest level of accreditation possible.
