What was the smartest thing your company did in the past year?

“Caspian is redefining the IT services and technology consulting space but we needed to tell that story to the marketplace in a meaningful way. So we undertook a strategic branding process that powerfully articulated our unique offerings and allowed us to focus our sales force, refine our client base, and optimize our services.”

What’s new at your company?

“Caspian has worked hard to develop a more holistic, forward-looking approach to technology infrastructure. It’s not just about the technology and processes, but about the people who use them. To that end, we’ve assembled a new cloud-based product offering consisting of comprehensive software tools that help our clients better attract and retain talent while saving time and money in the process.”

Do you plan to hire any additional staff or make any significant capital investments in your company in the next year?

“Right now we’re adding three members to our team and will continue to do so throughout the year to support our growth. We’re always on the lookout for talent. Caspian also is a fairly capital-intensive company, and we are constantly adding infrastructure into our data center operations in both North America and Europe.”

What will be your company’s main challenges in the next year?

“Managing growth is always a challenge. This year, it will be finding the right balance between launching our marketing initiatives, increasing our market penetration and advancing our product offerings, especially in the area of workforce mobility.”

What’s the hottest trend in your industry?

“There are two areas we see trending strongly this year. One is taking full advantage of the rapid advancement of mobile device capabilities. The other is the focus on ‘big data.’ Analyzing large data sets will become a key basis of competition, underpinning new waves of productivity growth, innovation and consumer surplus. The key is to unlock significant value by making the data transparent and usable at a much higher frequency.”

Do you have a business mantra?

“There’s more to IT. Don’t view your information technology infrastructure like a problem waiting to happen. Use it as an opportunity to advance your strategic goals and drive a competitive edge.”

From a business standpoint, who do you look up to?

“Sir Richard Branson. I’ve had the opportunity to meet him twice in my travels. I admire his passion for entrepreneurialism and his ability to focus on having fun, living in the moment, giving back and never giving up.”

What was the best advice you ever received?

“Success in business is not only about money, it’s about enrichment of life. It’s about the self-satisfaction of following your dream. You face the negatives in business along with the positives because you’re doing what you want to do in life.”

What do you like to do in your free time?

“Spend time with my family. Carrie and I have 2 ½ -year-old twins who like to keep us very busy!”
