The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin regional health care network is planning two expansion projects for Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls at a total cost of about $17 million.
One of the projects consists of a two-story, 16,450-square-foot addition planned for the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Joint Replacement Center. It will cost $7.9 million and is expected to be completed in early 2016.
“(The project) will provide space for cost-efficient, comprehensive services and enable us to meet anticipated growth in demand for joint replacement surgeries as the population ages,” said Froedtert spokeswoman Kathleen Sieja.
The second project consists of a 4,800-square-foot expansion and renovation of the emergency department at the hospital. That project is expected to cost $9 million and to be complete in early 2016.
The emergency department project will, “improve efficiency, increase patient comfort and better accommodate medical equipment,” Sieja said.
