Marshfield Clinic Health System announced last week election results for key leadership positions in the Clinic’s new governance structure.

Marshfield Clinic physicians voted in 2011 to approve the creation of Marshfield Clinic Health System, an entity that will govern the Clinic, Security Health Plan, Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls, and Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. A federal judge last month approved tax-exempt status for the Health System, which paved the way for completing the governance change.

Dr. Brian Ewert, who served as Clinic president for the past two years, was elected the first physician executive director of Marshfield Clinic. Ewert’s new position will focus on management rather than governance duties.
