Children’s Hospital launches new blog on child health

Children’s Hospital and Health System recently launched a blog to share topical information on child health topics. Multiple authors will contribute to the blog and offer comments on topics such as pediatrics, parenting, injury prevention, child safety health care leadership, advocacy and adoption and foster care.

"Our goal is to give our audience of parents, business leaders, the news media and our community timely topical updates from our vantage point in the world of child health,” said Julie Pedretti, director of public relations for the hospital.

The blog can be accessed directly at www.chhsblog.org and also by linking from the health system’s Web site (www.chw.org). Bloggers welcome feedback and comments, as well as suggestions for future discussion topics. The public can subscribe to receive regular updates either through an RSS feed or by e-mail.

"We want to offer our many health system experts a springboard for sharing cutting-edge information and insight with the community as it happens," Pedretti said.

Readers can also link to two other health system blogs from the site. Larry Duncan, vice president of regional services for Children’s Hospital and Health System, authors a popular blog entitled, "Leadership: Learnings, Laughs and Life Lessons." Duncan, has been a leader of the health system for 11 years, writes a thoughtful and sometimes humorous perspective on leadership and management. Another blog, "Bayshore Connection" also recently was launched by Children’s Medical Group Bayshore Pediatrics.
