Bucyrus International Inc., a global leader in mining equipment design and manufacturing, has received an order for a new walking dragline mining line that will be one of the largest in the world. The company did not state the value of the order, but said a line of this size and style would sell for between $150 million and $200 million.
The order was from BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance, Australia, which already has about 35 Bucyrus draglines operating in Australia.
The new machine will weigh more than 15 million pounds and will feature a 139 cubic yard capacity bucket, making it one of the largest draglines in the world.
